Cooking School, Bangladesh
The Cooking School is an initiative from Porag Nasirul Alam, the owner of the Holey Bakery in Dhaka and Bangkok and one of the pioneers of artisanal sourdough bread and pastries in Southeast Asia.
The average population of Bangladesh is relatively young and full of unutilized potential. The school’s mission is to select the country’s best talents, independent from their social backgrounds, and offer them an education in (one of) the best cooking schools in Southeast Asia, with the purpose to elevate the eating culture in the region.
The eco resort will be an escape for urban dwellers and offer an opportunity to escape the busy city life, relax among the beautiful rice paddies and taking cooking classes with their children in the school as well.
The Permaculture farm will yield vegetables, herbs, fruits, poultry, cattle & related products which will not only sustain the restaurants, bakery & cafe; it will expand into the business of subscription based organic grocery & baked goods targeted towards households.
The school should be an iconic structure that will become an internationally recognized example of sustainable architecture that will promote bamboo as one of the most sustainable building materials in the world.
